Dockyard - traditional home of the Royal Navy for centuries now
also proudly displays three famous ships from the history of sea
warfare:Henry VIII's Mary Rose, Nelson's flagship HMS Victory and
the Victorian iron clad HMS Warrior 1860.
Portsmouth's city centre has all the big names you'll recognise.
Enjoy the indoor mall at Cascades and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
there's a market dating back centuries. Visit nearby Victoria Park
and see why Portsmouth won inner-city in bloom.

Gay Scene
|
|
The Portsmouth gay community is young and thriving, with four gay
pubs andone club plus a gay sauna and a number of gay-friendly venues.
The main bars include Martha's with the night club 227 above, located
withineasy distance from the main shopping centre, Commercial Road.
The Old Vic provides a relaxed alternative atmosphere with a late
night bar just south of Commercial Road, and opposite is the newer
and lively Hampshire Boulevard.
The Elms pub is located in Elm Grove, on the corner of Albert Road,
another popular area of the City with its many and varied restaurants.
